I have both systems, jerk. Just that my ps3 collects more dust than the xbox, not to mention it just recently YLOD on me. And who's to say that it's gimmicky? What's gimmicky to you, may not be to me or someone else. 'Let's say your're not playing a FPS game for example, an RPG game where you're just walking around and not much action is going on and at the same time you look at the clock and say "Oh shit, my favorite show is on." It would be nice to watch and at the same time, play your game. Not every second of every game is going to be extremely intense bro, sheesh.
@kargion Fact? It may have some truth to it, but in it's entirety it's up to the skill of the gamer. I'd run circles on you with my 65 inch on a FPS game like COD running on 720p or 1080p. Resolution wouldn't matter to a highly skilled gamer in that aspect. Sure things may look nicer and "prettier" lol, but it doesn't mean I'll be better -___________-
And on my television, I can pretty much tell whats 720p and whats 1080p it does look better but it also depends on how far you are. The closer you are, the crappier it looks lol.
@SpicaAntares To each his own, whatever he decides to do. Also depends on what people think is "gimmicky" or a necessity for lack of a better word. I think what the X1 has to offer is pretty awesome, especially with the TV thing. I can watch my favorite show while playing at the same time. Pretty cool if you ask me.
1080p makes one a better gamer, huh? Well, just because things may be more "visible", doesn't mean that you will necessarily see what is "visible." Shit, I play COD all the time and you wouldn't believe the amount of retards that don't see an enemy directly in front of them. Slow reflexes or playing on a 20 inch screen, stuff like that just makes me mad.
Skill makes you a better gamer if you're really THAT into it, not 720p or 1080p -_________-
