Gah Resolution wars.

I think resolution... as far as 1080p vs 720p goes, only matters when the screen is 60 inches or more.  At even 50 inches, you have to be sitting pretty darn close to tell the difference.

The small pixels of 1080p are the true benefit... but with 1080p LCDs as small as 37 inches like the Sharp... unless you're using it as a PC monitor, I think that's just wasted resolution if you're sitting beyond 6 feet.  (Way close for home theater purproses)

Don't get caught up in RESOLUTION!  How about contrast?  Accurate Color!?  Black levels! Viewing angles?  Those are far more important for normal home theater use.

I usually don't stare at my TV from 4 feet away.  If you're going to get 1080p... go big to justify it... and make sure all the other variables are your first terms of buying choice.
