The article typically suggests to "not judge a book by its cover". However in my own opinion if the game is in a series and you have been enjoying all of them then by all means buy it when it comes out. On the other hand if you really want to get the game but are unsure on how well it performs, instead of pre-ordering or buying it straight off the shelf, wait a couple of weeks and read the reviews (if you are that keen on researching) to see how others have handled the game. Similar toe 'LegoAnakin' I too was looking forward to a very old game called 'Soldner' due to its trailers however as soon as I purchased a copy I couldn't even start it as some copies of the game had a startup glitch which prevented the user from playing the game all together.
