[QUOTE="seanmcloughlin"]

[QUOTE="lowe0"] It's an entertainment product. Isn't everything going to boil down to personal taste?ZombieKiller7

But when he openly bashes the entire platform and says everyone who uses it made bad choices and it will eventually die due to a few little personal taste issues then it's going a bit overboard. To say you don't like something because of personal taste nonchalantly is fine. But he goes to town on the PC bashing

My personal taste is I like (old school) PC gaming.

The way it's going now, it's never going to be a big commercial success and in fact desktop computing doesn't have a future.

This isn't coming from me, it's coming from Forbes, Newsweek, New York Times, Computerworld, Information Week, etc etc.

Microsoft itself says that desktop PC's are on their way out.

The only industry that thinks PC gaming will grow is the PC gaming industry, Nvidia pining for the glory days of bi-annual upgrade cycles, the truth is the only thing pushing PC gaming growth right now is Facebook.

Steam is basically successful in converting old school PC gamers (who have traditionally stuck to physical copies or piracy) to Digital Distribution model.

Over the long-term this mode of gaming is and will remain a niche market only for hardcore nerds.

That's not because of $400 vs $700 PC builds.

That's because the majority of the gaming population don't want to become IT techs.

If you want to consider what I've wrote as an "attack" on PC gaming, knock yourself out, but I think any normal, chemically balanced person will see it for what it is, an honest assessment of the technology business as a whole.

As long as there are people who ENJOY PC gaming as a hobby, there will be an industry that SERVES those hobbyists.

The popularity of iPhones hasn't killed off CB radio and ham radio enthusiasm (and I'm pretty sure CB/ham radio companies are growing just fine.)

Just don't expect to see CB radios in Starbucks, or PC Gaming taking the stage at E3 anytime soon, because they're not part of the mainstream consciousness, and never will be in their current form.

Stop being a crying looser and join the master race. I did it and I will never look back.

I don't think so. Next gen consoles won't be any more powerful than a current mid-end PC
