I'm wanting to get this MSI 7850. It'll be my first time using any ati product but they seem far supiorer (somewhat) than Nvidia. Anyways, I have a first gen i7 920 2.67 ghz, I just want to be sure there isn't going to be any throttling problems. I don't want to waste my money. Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the late reply I've been in Flordia. My drivers are updated, I check that religiously. It can't be my ram because my computer reads it fine and it can't be my vga its pretty new, then again it could be. So the only culprit would be my psu, which makes sense because it sucks to begin with. The problems started in April, then my computer stopped doing for a few months and they started back up again.

Btw, Iced Earth is the sh*t! I just picked up tickets to see them in Chicago!

Also, I use a MSI 460 now not my 250's. I can't figure out how to update my sig because my settings don't even list whats in it. Lame.

So, when I'm playing Skyrim, Crysis, Metro 2033 or any more recent games my computer just freezes every once in a while. Ctl+alt+del doesn't even work so I can't recover or end the game, I have to force my computer to restart. Any suggestions on fixing this?

Right on guys. I tweaked with it for a while and found out I have to turn my 5.1 up a little more than I'm used to. The 2.1 actually does a good job translating into a 5.1. I'm loving this card even more now.

Yea its a home theater system. I have it set up for optical with the dolby digital on and the highs and mids sound great but the bass could be better. I've only had this card for a couple days so it could just be that I need to play with the program a little more.

I just picked up an Asus Xonar Essence Stx. I love the card, it makes my headphones sound great. Sometimes though I like to listen to my music on my surround sound. The problem is I don't think the software is that good for my 5.1. I checked out Astoundsound but it seems to have too much treble and the options to control the sound is limitied. Are there any programs you guys would reccomend?

Indy has always been a nice looking city and with the superbowl coming up everywhere is getting rehauled. Stay away from the eastside though.

I prefer progressive metal like Dream Theater or Symphony X but I'll give anything a listen. Go!
