[QUOTE="ILoveKHandAnime"][QUOTE="Marfoo"] Open up command console and type "sfc.exe /scannow", this will check the integrity of your Windows files and replace as necessary, you can also run CHKDSK.Marfoo
Sfc.exe /scannow immediately asks me to put in my "Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 CD", even though all I have is a Windows XP Pro cd. I put that in and it doesn't work.

Yeah, it only prompts for the disk if you have something that needs to be replaced because it's corrupted or something. Is there anyway you can get your hands on a SP2 disk? Once repaired, I also recommed you upgrade to SP3 for XP.

I'm using SP3 already and I have no clue on how I'd get my hands on a SP2 disk.

Do other browsers work? Or other versions of Firefox?

Other versions crash too. Weird. And now when it crashes, it doesn't freeze up my whole PC. But when I was trying to play Starcraft earlier, my PC froze up. Doesn't make sense.

I tried uninstalling/reinstalling Flash and all I can say is: no beans. I went into the crash logs and the crash signature mentions kernell32.dll being the problem.

I typically don't have many problems with computers that I can't solve right off the bat, but this is one of them. Yesterday, after looking at a bunch of flash videos off riske' sites (though not any different than I've been doing for years and haven't been given problems), Firefox 3.5 has been crashing and bringing my computer down with it. When navigating to a new page/link, 1/10 times, Firefox with either crash outright, or freeze my computer to the point of where I can't even bring up the task manager (but I can move around my mouse). At that point I'm forced to restart.

I've run a bunch of scans and they didn't pick anything up. Any idea what it could be?

don't listen to these people, most of them have no idea what they are talking about. READ THIS ENTIRE MESSAGE IF YOU ARE SERIOUS, DONT BE LAZY AND SKIM, READ IT.

you want the best earbuds? buy the Monster Turbines or tours, they go for about 180.00 new, but you can get a new pair for 130.00 or so on amazon. I own a pair of the turbines and they are LITERALLY the best headphones I've EVER had. That include over the ears and all that. The pair has incredible sound quality unlike any buds ive ever experienced, the $500.00 shures are not as nice as these and have no bass at all. These turbines have INSANE bass, blow your head off bass. If you are using a nice mp3 player like the Samsung p2, you will be able to customize the EQ to allow for unreal, amazing, crap yourself sound quality with these. Those grados and sonys wont compare, and you get almost complete noise reduction with the turbines, they fit snug in your ear and block almost all noise, guess how much that would cost from a pair of sony or grads over the ear? The cord length is like 3ft, perfect for portable use. The bigger over the ears are not portable and usually have a VERy long cord, and sound only slightly better than these.

you want comfort? Bose Quiet 2 or 3. No competion. They offer excellent sound quality, a nice cord length, and you dont look like an idiot wearing them outside. Retail 250 ish, 130 for a pair of triports at best buy which are VERY nice, but dont really have any bass

Sony, grads, Sennheiser, all GREAT brands, however people REALLY get stuck on this idea that "BRAND NAMES SUCK, GET A GRAD or a weird other name you've never heard of. The fact of the matter is, the quality different from The monster turbines EAR BUDS and Sennheisters HD/bose Q2 or Q3 OVER THE EARS is not very different and certainly not worth the other 150 bucks. Audio Technicas camo edition Proms5 line was very nice for 99 bucks, but was crushed by the bose triports and all of the monster ear buds....THE EAR BUDS SOUNDED BETTER THAN THE OVER THE EARS!

bottom line here is it really is up to you and what you like, for me, i prefer something I can use on my mp3 player, and also hook up to my pc when i want to, have total noise reduction, and be very comfortable. I found precisely that in my monster turbines. People look at my like im nuts, but they are the ones walking down the street with massive Grado or Sony headphones in their heads, lugging around a 9 foot cord and sometimes having to use BATTERIES just to listen to music. You ever see someone walking about with Skullcandy headphones on the street? No, because they know they look like idiots if they did.

Triton isnt even used for portable mp3 players. You can't take them anywhere lol, and they look stupid. My Audio Technica mspro5 set sounded equally as nice and they were like 150 bucks cheaper, and I GOT A BETTER WARRANTY!

make sure you ask the right questions and are very specific in your questioning, also, do hella research on headphones before you buy, nothing it worse than being let down by a pair that was supposed to sound nice, and was recommended to you by some guy on the net that said WOW OMG THESE ARE THE BEST IVE EVER HAD, when in reality that guy might have never tried any other pair before it >.>

happy hunting, feel free to message me before you buy, i'm part of an audiophile group that knows their stuff, I'm sure someone I know has a pair of w/e you want to buy :D

sintygypsy

The Monster Turbines aren't that great at all. Their bass is is simply overwhelming, occasionally muddy and taking over the mids. And you haven't heard of Grado? I don't think you're fit to be giving headphone advice when we're talking about with this much money. The only thing the Monster Turbines are good for (my guess) would be rap.
