I was wondering.....

If I put my PS3 HDD in a friends PS3 it would have to format it. Right?

If my friend then puts his HDD back in, after mine is formatted and removed,

would his HDD still work as usual, without him having to format it?

My PS3 broke down today, that's why I'm asking....
