@biggest_loser Cursing, bad mouthing, expletives, bad words, trashy language, @^)&^#^, inappropriate vocabulary. Essentially any word that will come up as gibberish if a wesbite has a censor. I wasn't that subtle was I?
@biggest_loser The same reason a bully will taunt a kid for their glasses out of insecurity? The main reason they have kept in there mind, one that is typically made apparent. But the insults? Its just ammo being thrown by idiots. The real people you need to watch out for are the ones who, here it comes, form their opinions without cursing out the individual.
People, please. Stop jumping on this band wagon of "Support this article or you support bullying." This article has been made with an amount of bias I cannot even begin to comprehend. Develop your own opinions, ones formed upon her work, response, and multiple examples of what the internet will do to those who respond badly. She took the bait, Bioware allowed a dip in quality writing, and here is Gamespot automatically jumping up and down over...what? A woman who got her feelings hurt over the internet? This whole ordeal had nothing to do with her being a female, fat, or any other sort of idea. This entire thing is because of her poor writing and an even worse response to the building hatred. This hatred being directed at Bioware, but Hepler serving as a catalyst as she is the purest example of their slowly dwindling quality in games. And what did she do with this? She taunted those who were most vicious. And now we are to feel sorry and act like the human race is scum? She lit the fuse, but this article acts as if we should take the explosion as a result.
@Gelugon_baat Really? So your fine with freedom of speech until, what, it hurts people's feelings? Seriously? Like you said, there is no compromise. Just because you feel like it should be situational does not make it so. Freedom of speech is absolute, with the good and the bad. Take it or leave it.
And the finisher to this entire thing that I love about this article. Gamespot, you have created an entire piece on a person being insulted on the internet. Better get to work considering theres a lot more sensitive souls out there that were called a "doo doo head" over those terrible internet websites.
Oh, on top of everything no, Bioware does not have a right to do any of that. If someone on the internet said I was a moron, I do not have a right to "pursue legal action" or anything of the kind. Guess what Gamespot, freedom of speech.
Ok, I never log into Gamespot for anything. None the less to comment on a post. But this...jeez guys. Bioware has hired a very, very bad writer. She was not "bullied" on what she said, but instead the fact that it runs in line with the mentality she takes to writing. This is apparent in many of Bioware's games now, and while her influence only goes as far as the Dragon Age series, it still is a bad move on Bioware to allow such a dip in quality of writing. On top of it all she RESPONDED to the insults. She took the bait, any smart person knows not to fuel the flame. The internet is filled to the brim with hate, this is known to everyone. Do not play the "feel sad for her because bullying is a national crisis" card because that is wildly off topic. Her quality in writing is terrible, she destroyed much of what made Dragon Age great, and to top it all off Bioware does NOT treat their fans well despite much patience from their side. This is evident in strict bans from The Old Republic to the cheapening quality of their games. Do not dare defend a subject in which a band wagon has appeared to say "Get on or you support bullying!". All this article states is bullying is bad and she doesn't deserve any impatience on the fans portion. In truth, fans have been patient for much to long with the quality decline from Bioware. She is but the catalyst from which the hate pours into. Take a hint Bioware. /rant
