well its funny. back in the day when u had a game like sonic or mario. there was a clear definition of beaten and unbeaten. but more recently for example the WWE SDVR series and the madden 08 game make it impossible to know when done is done. SDVR has modes like GM and season not to mention the challenges. madden has the hall of fame, and franchise so even if u beat one thing u have a lot more.
i dont think there were games i regreted buying but i know there were definately some games that were dissapointing in one way or another. THUG 2 i didnt think was as good as THUG 1. and legends of wrestling had some things i didnt like about it. its funny i saw this football game for PS3 and its already $14. now THAT must be a dissapointment
