It looks like if you're using the U.S. Mass Effect games then the 1.04 patch might not work for reasons that haven't been explained* (so far mine has been utterly useless). So basically until (or rather if) they make a second patch you're stuck with your ME 2 defaulting to the decisions from ME 1 that are either the most Renegade (like letting the Council die) or the worst outcomes (like Wrex dying). Same thing goes for ME 3 incidentally. Hope you like being Renegade or spending all your time playing ME 1 only. *At least I haven't heard about anyone having the problem with the 1.04 patch not working outside the U.S.
