Nah need a single card solution. Have audio recording hardware in the same box. The 690 does seem like overkill. Will probably go with a gtx 670 or 680 till the 700's come. Some the question now is what's the fastest and coolest 670 4gb? I could just OC it to a 680.

Titan has slightly weaker performance for the same price, but it's a single gpu. Also, I think it's even less available than the gtx 690.

Because it eats all other cards alive. I run a single monitor...a 52 inch hdtv at 1080, so I dont really need 4 gigs vram..although I might go for a 670 or 680 4 gig.

ENB isnt hard. you just add and replace some files. Just follow the instructions.

First mod to get is sky ui. It overhauls the horrible stock UI. If you have the graphics to handle it, get 2k textures. I use an ENB photorealism mod that's incredible. PC blows consoles out of the water if you have decent hardware. I still have a 360 for my sports and racing.

Also the i7 runs kind of warm.

Doesn't the 1366 chip set throttle a lot more than the ivy bridge?

So I'm thinking of upgrading my GTX 580 to a GTX 690 which has led me to thinking about upgrading my mobo and cpu to maximize it. Right now, I'm running an i7 920 and the LGA 1366 is pretty much obsolete. Simple question...what is the best performing cpu/ mobo for gaming that will fully unleash the GTX 690? Thanks.

This game loooks nothing like WoW. Wow looks like a cartoony N64 game. Also, in my opinion, it ruined truer RPG games. WoW was the first game to spoon feed everything. Next thing you know, better games were being simplified to try and compete financially resulting in a big mess of simplistic RPG's.
