I don't think the beta was long enough for most people to get to know how to play it properly. It was very tough if people didn't take advantage of when the AT AT's were most vulnerable. For example virtually no one would jump in the turrets by the lake at the first uplink

The longer the beta went on, the more I saw the rebels win. If it had run for a couple of weeks then maybe the it would have balanced naturally

At most maybe a small adjustment of say 5-10% in favour of the rebels would have sufficed, basically enough so that it made it so that not every rebel player needed to be focusing on the AT AT's to take them down. That would have left the lone wolfs and non-teamwork players free to do what they want without lessening the team effect too much

I'm waiting for my pre-order to hit the doormat but I hope that this mode hasn't been made over easy now. The fun was that it was very challenging

Very true. It's always a fine line in marketing and such golden opportunities don't come around too often. Sony played it right from the start and now seem to be reaping the benefits.

From a purely marketing point of view I think Sony missed a trick. They highlighted the differences between them and what the Xbox community was angry about and forced Microsoft to change their policies. If they had waited until nearer the release date they could have caught Microsoft out and possibly gained many more sales.

If 70% of them are jerks then it would be great if they were to clear off, then maybe the rest of us could have a decent discussion on games and the like. That's the problem with the Internet in that every arsehole can spout complete bollocks in near absolute anonymity without fear of major reprisals. What is 100% certain is that these people would never in a million years say what they type to someone's face. That shows the immaturity, lack of social skills and general failings of morals and respect in our world today.

@SIDEFX1 Yep, me too. Something that was made by Ocean or someone for the C64/Spectrum/Amiga etc. I've probably got it somewhere in my loft. :-D

Edit, found it, maybe. Game Over? The font is different but the graphical style is the same. http://www.coverbrowser.com/image/c64-games/613-1.jpg

@Wango_Tango

You are quite right but there is far too much violence readily and easily available. It's not just the entertainment industry, it's all over. The increase since I was a child is immense. You never saw shocking scenes on the news at all hours of the day, only at night. Kids (let's say 3-10) should not be subjected to the aftermath of bombings, war, death on tv. The entertainment industry is constantly pushing the boundaries of wanting to shock people. It's this shock factor that's lessened peoples perceptions. No one get's shocked anymore when faced with scenes of violence. I think that is wrong for society in general.
