FF10 was one of my favorite games of all time. I never did play the sequel though. FF11 was amazing also. FF12 was horrible, it was the worst FF game I've played to date.. FF13 was also one of my favorite games of all time. I'm playing through the sequel right now. I don't like the sequel as much, but it's still a good game. I never got a chance to play the FF14 1.0.
With regards to FF13, you shouldn't be play with the auto-battle button. If you are using that then you aren't playing the game to your full potential. I enjoyed the story and pretty much everything about that game. I couldn't put it down.
My point is that you can't make a game that everyone will like. It sucks that you weren't able to enjoy the games that I was able to enjoy and vice versa, but that's the way it goes. I'm sorry to see that you are saddened by the current direction of FF, but you should probably just move on. Game frachises change. They can't make games like they made them 10-15 years ago, get over it. Things change. Either embrace change or just stop playing and complaining about it, unless you're a masochist.
