I know this is blasphemy on the PS3 board, but I'd have to go with Halo (I know there's more than 3 games but the first three tied together for one complete storyline so I'd consider it a trilogy). It was close between that and GoW, but I've never had a better gaming experience than with playing through Halo CE for the first time.
I'd like to think that the game market in general is making a shift towards a more immersive gaming experience utilizing these new technologies. While most, if not all of the games that have been coming out for the Kinect can be considered casual, I'd like to think that as developers have time to get creative, there will be new hybrid games that appeal to hardcore gamers and increase the overall enjoyment. In any case, I don't see a scenario in which the hardcore gamer is left behind.
I don't feel that the Move has differentiated itself enough from the Wii, while the Kinect is something completely different. Plus there's just something cool about controlling the gameplay without ever pressing a single button.
I have both, and personally speaking, if dance games are what your mom is really interested in, the Kinect wins hands down. We have Dance Central, Dance Dance Revolution, and Just Dance. Dance Central is the only one that actually requires you to perform real dance moves. The others just make you either shake a controller to the rhythm, or step on a square at a specific time. The Wii is great for a lot of things, but dance games are what the Kinect was designed for.
I have been waiting around 20 minutes now and it doesn't appear to have made any progress. I'm not sure if it's just being extremely slow, or if it just isn't going to happen.
