I bought a brand new (unopened) 1st party Gamecube controller about 3-4 weeks ago in anticipaion for Brawl, which had worked perfectly until yesterday, after it fell on the floor(short fall, maybe 6 inches) and I sprayed it with clorox sanitizing spray. Since then, it stops working irratically in different ways(up on the control stick no longer registers temporarily, c stick stops working temporarily, R has stopped working altogether today) and after trying a variety of things to fix it (pounding on it(which does remove some liquid, but only solves certain problems temporarily), putting it under hot running water, unplugging itmultiple times) attempting to open it (and having all of the screwdrivers I have access to fail)) I've run out of ideas. After pounding on it enough earlier, it shook violently for about a minute then stopped working altogether. Does anyone have any ideas, or am I just goingto have to buy a new controller?
