As for your first "why is this even worth reporting?" is a good question, I believe that gamespot (and other gaming review sites) are trying to capitalize the buzz as a result of a large group of gamers disatisfaction (with the game) as well as the counter group trying to discredit them.

It seems to provide them more views.

@Gwoolhurme @FlameBoyBen not sure what your point it in relations to power to consumers.

User scores of metacritc (while I am not a huge fan) give power to a group of people who feel margalized and gives them a platform to voice there disatisfaction.

That is a good thing

@Cordliss @Crossel777 well it kind of makes sense, if it sells poorly then a significant group of people are more likely to recieve the game they desire.

So yeah its a logical conclusion
