I just received a nice gift, Toshiba X300 laptop. (also have a 2006 '17 Mac G4 laptop)

I want to try Modding for games lke Mount & Blade to start. Get a feel for it.

I am an "older" guy in day-job but I always wanted to at least pitch my idea's to some companies for fun. Drawing them in a notebook would not be very impressive,heh,heh.

I am going to download the free trial of 3D Max 09...I don't even want to know what it costs.

I hear animtion is what is needed in the industry these days....not lke the claymtion I used to do with my super 8 film movie camera.

Any advice for guy in Toronto Canada?

Night classes? learning Visual Basic C++ ?, animation.

I am already well into Pro Tools for music.

If it cost approx $140 for shipping (to Microsoft repair) I was thinking of buying the Xbox 360 Arcade unit, $199 Canadian.

Anybody know if that console is the same ? I have my hard drive and controllers etc.

It's only 50 bucks more and I don't have to wait.

The one that I was so, so , SO excited about was BiA Hells Highway.

So many video's and interviews, looked like a gritty hard core war game with all the terror and panic and blood and tactics....WOW !

...only gritty part is the slo mo close ups...other than that no blood. Tactics are, I dunno, not the same as previous games. I found this game linear and had really cheap A.I. that were like supermen.

I expected a much more open (fully circle an enemy) not just pathways so you get stuck and watch your guys get mowed down when you try to get them safe.

I like some of the Retro stuff for PSP, reminds me of a simpler time.

I have been playing EA Replay on PSP and enjoy the old Mutant League Football (no Hockey ?) Great old time stuff.

So why don't they make a Sports Replay with the best old stuff, NHL 93, Madden 93 - 95, Lakers VS Celtics, FIFA 93-98, Rugby...y'know which ever versions are the best on one disc UMD. Maybe improve the animations a bit...I would love to play a smooth version of Lakers vs Celtics...I loved that game.
