I agree with you "richcsst" True Explanation! have both the Xbox 360 and a PS3. While I can understand the misinterpretations of image quality here, I don't see how this apples and oranges comparisons makes a point. 1> Most of these games were developed on the Xbox 360 and ported to the PS3. Porting involves getting software to behave equally as well on the new hardware. Developing the software from scratch on the PS3 would have made a lot of difference. Seeing the level of detail on PS3 only games, versus ported games says a lot about under-tapped power of the PS3. 2> The perceptions of "blurriness" in the PS3 are not quite correct. What I see are more polygons and better anti-aliasing to achieve a smoother look. Of course objects with sharp (unnatural) corners look "sharper". Many of the PS3 shots look more realistic to me. Nevertheless, some blurriness that is actually real blurriness I attribute to programmer laziness, not hardware deficiency. Remember, these are ports. 3> Screenshots may seem cool (and the only means for such an article), but movement and environment make up part of the rendering result. 4> Why is it "apples to oranges?" You are comparing games designed and developed on the Xbox 360. This is a console with one PPC CPU, and a customized, but still a single ATI GPU. Essentially a mini-PC. This can only run a single piece of code per cycle. It is linear execution like many pre-multicore PC's. The PS3, on the other hand has 8 execution units (cells), was designed as a parallel processor, and a highly advanced GPU capable of much more than the Xbox360's. Those ported games (with the exception of some minor tweaking where there was time to do so) are programmed in the same linear, single processor, fashion as their Xbox 360 counterparts. Why? It's cheaper to do so. Why spend extra time and money on something that will make just as much money with equal quality to the other release? Want to see some capability game shots of the PS3? Take a look at "Heavenly Sword". While not tapping all of the PS3's potential, it does give you an idea of what a game that does exploit some of that power can look like. When you see the big budget (developed on the PS3) games come out, then start the comparisons. Until then, it's apples and oranges. Yes, GTAIV was big budget, but a big budget Xbox360 developed game. Porting to the PS3 from the Xbox360 actually isn't that hard. The Cell processor is based on the PPC core that the Xbox360 has. All you have to do is modify the GPU specific parts and any timer-based sections. (mainly). Exploit a cell or two with some quick tweaks and that's it. Meanwhile, six execution cells just sit there doing nothing, as well as most of the GPU.

the PS3 Rock, Xbox 360 might have cool looking graphics, but the PS3 goes over top with terms of technology. PS3 Bluy-Ray player is the cheapers one around, so I go for the PS3. Sony will beat Microsoft again! I can't wait for that moment!.. I'm tired of hearing 360 the best, but we haven't seen nothing yet, 360 its a year old, PS3 is right on his butt. Let wait until the major tittle are release for the next season from September to December!, then we should talk about it!.
