@petelero: Stop repeating garbage youve heard other people say. 30fps does make anything look "cinematic". It makes it look like a fucking flip book. If you have ps4 look at last of us. Turn on 60fps and then scan around your environment with the camera.Now turn it off and do the same, if you cant tell the difference straight away you better get to specsavers as your eyes are fucked.
@masscrack: Its because the 1060 is a cheaper and better than a 970. As soon as the 1060 was released the 970 lost any resale value it had. I should know as I was about to sell mine for £200 when the 1060 came out and I suddenly found my card was worthless lol.
@Keivz_basic: If you gaming at 1080p and dont plan to upgrade your tv/monitor anytime soon a 970/980 is more than enough for your needs. Youll be able to run everything with a 970 on ultra. You might not get rock solid 60fps but you shouldnt dip below 40fps. and considering you can get them for next to nothing with the release of the 1060 the card is a bargain.
@elessarGObonzo: The 1060 has better performance than the 970 so with its release it has all but made the 970 worthless. Getting one for cheap shouldnt be too hard a prospect.
@Kalkano: While true, it has the potential to be really harmful to consumers. Theres a real danger of the console market adopting a mobile strategy. Imagine a new console being released every year like the iphone. The only way to sustain that would be to also adopt the contract option the mobile market. And what comes after that? Garbage "hardware updates". Holding back of basic features to make sure there is something new for next years model.
If the idea is to upgrade the hardware every 4 or 5 years then fine, but if its every one or two years then you might as well go PC.
@simplytheebest: No, people get a new phone as part of a contract, or they buy an older phone at a discount price. The mobile phone market is its one thing, I dont see anyone lining up to take out a contract on a console. Do you?
