Got this straight from the MS site

- OEM versions do not offer any free Microsoft direct support from Microsoft support personnel

- OEM licenses are tied to the very first computer you install and activate it on

- OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

- OEM versions cannot be used to directly upgrade from an older Windows operating system

And on top of that its only $64 for students. Youre not restricted to just the OEM version.

I have that same monitor, and yep its a pretty solid one. Kinda wobbly, but stays put on a sturdy desk. I upgraded to this from an old 19' square dell monitor... world of a difference lol.

[QUOTE="V4LENT1NE"]

[QUOTE="GazaAli"]The GPU is a bit weak for such a rig. Also, if its for gaming then this i7 is too much. And if I'm getting this right, you are getting two 4 GB DDR3 RAM sticks. This better be three 3GB DDR3 sticks for the whole triple channel thing and all.Postal_Guy

6950 is weak?! Triple Channel RAM for a SandyBridge?!

*Pic*

umm yea soooo... is this a good rig?

It is a great rig, but I highly suggest building your own. I built my first one about 2 weeks ago and was amazed at how easy and fast it came together. Youll also save a buttload of money too.

Thats like half his budget lol

Microcenter has some pretty good processor deals for in-store pickup. Do you or your friend have a Microcenter close to where you live?

Nope just a CompUSA
