I always like to think of the car analogy when discussing used games. It would be no different if Ford came out and said "if you sell your used Ford, we need a cut of the profit and you can only sell it back to a Ford dealership and you can only let one other person drive your Ford". Everyone would go ballistic and this is no different. You bought a game, you should be able to lend it or sell or give it away to anyone you want, YOU OWN IT!

The Wii U is on par with the X360 and PS3, both of which are current gen systems. The problem is that most studios are now starting to focus on next gen and getting ready for that. Since the Wii U will be no where near as powerful as the X720 and PS4, it means that in about a year after release it will be considered obsolete hardware. Couple that with the fact that it isn't selling well and you have the makings of a disaster.

One of my main problems with this is, what happens 10 years from now if I want to fire up my XBox 720 and play a game? I guarantee Microsoft won't be supporting it anymore. Right now I can take a 30 year old Atari or Nintendo and play it anytime I want, but that won't be the case 30 years from now with a system that requires an internet connection. If that's the case, I wouldn't actually own my XBox 720, I'd be buying something that I can use only as long as Microsoft decides to support it. It would be like buying a new Ford car and Ford telling you that when the odometer hits 100,000 miles the car will just stop working. You wouldn't put up with that for a new car and you shouldn't put up with it for a video game system.

There are too many reports from various sources for this always on internet connection for the next XBox not to be true. I just find it hard to believe that Microsoft could be that stupid, especially after the gamer fury over Sim City and Diablo. Always on is obviously something that gamers don't want or need, so why force it on them. You're also giving up a huge portion of the country that has at best, spotty internet service. It's bad enough to have always on requirement for games, but for a whole system, it's just suicide. I guess Microsoft wants to challenge Nintendo to see who can sell the least amount of consoles this generation.

I'm hearing Microsoft "could" block used games, and Sony refuses to answer the question about whether or not they will. Something tells me they are going to leave it up to the individual developers. Then if you buy a used game, you'll have to pay a fee to even be able to play it or games from certain companies will never work on a second system. If this is the case, I think I'll give up console gaming and go back to PC's.

I don't think this is going to happen. If it does, both Microsoft and Sony will implement it, but if only one of them does, it will be complete suicide. I think it will actually kill the console business anyhow, if they try it.
