@Imatyta @Duke_Dude @Simplythebest12 I do prefer consoles though for their ease of access. It's just so much easier swtiching on my PS3 and playing online MP with friends.
@MrToxicgamer10 @Duke_Dude No effort has been made since ACIII (An argument could be made for Revelations) to really make AC stand out like it once did. The effort in story-telling and shipping a complete product has gone down the drain,
@brok Sid Meier's Pirates! was such an awesome game! I still play it from time to time, I loved spreading English supremecy and then retire as a governor :D
I have no faith in the series after ACIII and how Ubi handled the story. ACIII's combat was great and the graphics were steller, but the story was horrible, bland and went against everything every AC game had tried so hard to create.
AC was always about Desmond and his fight against the Templars but that isn't the case anymore (Won't elaborate for lack of spoilers) so I wonder why a new ancestor will need to go into the Animus.
But yeah, this series has lost it's way, being a pirate sure sounds fun but it's not Assassin's Creed :(
@Elaisse Rushing? KZ3 was released back in 2011 already, since then Guerrilla has had a little over two years to work on this. Having been a huge asset to the Playstation brand it would not surprise me if they had their hands on early PS4 dev consoles back then already.
You forget that because it's being developed by Steam we will not only see console games for it but PC games as well. The online store will most obviously be Steam which already supports achievements, chat rooms, social groups and a whole host of other features. Can you imagine these features on a console?
Torchlight 2 on console anyone? Yes please!
We don't have enough details to go on right now, but one might be able to upgrade the hardware in the box to a certain extent prolonging it's life even further and really making it an attractive purchase for a lot of gamers.
So while we don't know a lot about the Steam Box, I think Valve is in a very good and unique position to go ahead and launch their "console" with the next-gen PS and Xbox and make a huge success of it.
It's because they want more money that's all. EA's getting rid of manuals, why? For environmental reason, yeah, right... All these big companies want it more and more money, so it didn't surprise me when they started charging $10 to play online...
@phrozac I for one am not happy about that! Yes, his Requiem for a Dream was brilliant! But his music just does not have that "moving" feel to it. I feel they could have done a lot better than Clint :(. Don't get me wrong though, he is an excellent composer but Mass Effect is an epic inter-galactic adventure, and Clint is best at "small" music. "Small" in the sense that he doesn't get across this sense large scale sense of feeling. He seems to focus on isolated and small events, whereas Mass Effect 2 is massive and intertwining! I just hope he does the series justice!
