God forbid they add a new type of gameplay to the main storyline. Next thing you know they'll have forced missions and bosses.

If you don't like the games then don't buy the games. If you don't think the DLC is worth the money then don't buy the DLC. Even excluding DLC content the Dragon Age and Mass Effect games are massively larger than most other console games and cost the same amount of money, so your complaint has no merit.
