if you want to take an offline gamertag, and turn it into an xbox live gamertag, the only way to do this is to sign into that gamertag on your console, and then select the 'join xbox live' option from the console dashboard, this will then take you through the process of transforming the offline account into an xbox live account. (note that if you already have an xbox live account created on xbox.com then you can NOT merge your offline account with that, you will need to turn your offline account into a whole new xbox live id)

any accounts made through the website are stand alone accounts, and cant be merged with offline acounts in any way

the only way to take an offline account and turn it into an xbox live account is to do it through the console as i already described above

I've created a new xbox live account. Can i delete my profile and migrate my offline profile to xbox live? I accidently created a new profile when i created a new xbox live account. My new profile (xbox live) only has 75 gamer points and my offline profile has 12 thousand + gamerpoints. Is there ANY way for me to make my offline profile go online in xbox live without losing my gamerpoints or getting banned for fraudelence. Can i delete my xbox live profile from my hard drive and exchange my older one to the same spot (on the xbox live servers) that my new profile is in? Or will i have to make another account on xbox.com with the same name as my offline gamertag first and then log on to xbox live with my offline gamertag?

can you set up and xbox live account through a modem into a phone jack? Will I have to subscribe/sign up on xbox.com first in order for xbox live to work through my modem, or will cyberspace really allow my xbox to act as a processor for xbox live informations. I have had my console for 2 and 1/2 years, accumulated 12k+ gamerscore and I am just now able to hook my connection up and I'd appreciate an answer to this question. I also want to know if I can import my offline account into a new xbox live account. thanks in advance.
