@stride21 Yea, ubersampling will made a PC cry, and still will today... but it's rather superfluous. I don't hate jaggies so much that I'll take that hit to my GPU. It's not like Crysis 1. Now that was a true example of features that systems couldn't handle at the time, and not just a superfluous feature that really didn't do all that much.
More accurately, the uber desktop of 2004 is the standard smartphone of today. The roughly $1000 laptopgraphics card (not even the whole computer) of today is the super computer of 1997 (Comparison of modern GTX 860M against ASCI Red super computer of 1997 in peak linpack performance). Don't you guys just love technology?
@Xmus942 @DeusGladiorum Oh, didn't realize that. Still, the frame rate for the PS4 version is loads more consistent. I could see multiple visible drops on the PS3 version.
I'm impressed with how much they've pulled out of the PS3, but it's not like the transition between 6th and 7th gen when 7th gen games took so much more advantage of the available resources that their 6th gen multiplatform counterparts were completely different games.
Here're the differences I noticed on the PS4 version:
- Higher resolution
- Possibly better anti-aliasing (I say possibly because the higher resolution could just make up for the lack of jaggies)
@Tribesmaster It likely won't be hard to run. Even a low end PC would likely be able to run it. I used to have a pretty low end PC and I ran Civ 4 at max settings at 1366x768 very well, and I ran the Civ 5 demo pretty well too. People aren't too sensitive about low frame rates in games like this. You could get away with playing a game like this at 20 fps easily, assuming input lag isn't severe. So even if it's not coming out for consoles, you might still have a good chance to play it.
