Well, I'm no economist, but from what I've seen we (Americans) are a most ridiculous situation right now. My dad pays over 40% of his income in taxes (not Income Tax alone, but Property, Social Security, etc.), we're involved in a trillion-dollar war in a country that has nothing to do with us, our dollar is worth less than that of the Canadians, Social Security is going to go bankrupt, the Democrats are proposing Universal Health Care, the world hates us, and the Fed won't stop printing so much god damn money.

As you can see, I happen to be a Libertarian. Though now he's a far-cry from winning, I think Ron Paul and others following a similar Libertarian, Constitutionalist philosophy might have a chance sometime in the future, when Americans are sick and tired of spending, wars, and Big Brother.

We are ALL descendants of immigrant. America is a nation of immigrants. The people who were considered "Americans" 100 years back did the same thing to so many of our ancestors that we are doing to our immigrants now. Now while I agree that we can only have so many immigrants, immigrants are people too.
