It's not just about Jeff.

This whole incident questions the credibility of all game critics.

Assuming this is all true...

I feel for Jeff, I really do. But let's look at the bigger issue here, shall we? He (reportedly) got fired for his review because it was bad advertising for the game. Right. Ok. So they wanted to change his honest opinion of the game. You know what this means? Bias and bribery. This will be a big mark on the credibility of reviewers these days and will certainly fuel anyone who loves to chastise reviewer sites with rumours of fanboyism and bias.

Quite frankly, I think it's time for boycotting. This SHOULD NOT be allowed AT ALL in the critic industry. It completely undermines everything that a critic should abide by. If anyone takes Gamespot seriously after this, then they are truly idiotic.
