"our consoles have gone through a highly certified process to make sure your 360 is "A certified xbox 360 replacement". Pffft yeah, my as.s man. I wait 14 days for this thing to come in and it won't even turn on so I can play it. What now?

But just so you know that the extended 3 year warranty is only valid if the RRoD is the culprit, anything else and you need a valid warranty or be forced to pay.

I had to call MS 2 weeks ago for my dead system and they said they do not send refurbished machines back, but stock that is left over. My original console died in January and the one they sent back was from September 2006, so it was newer than my launch console, but was in no way new. I guess there really isn't a way to prove if it's refurbished.

The worst would be to get a system back that is older than the one that broke.

Well then I really hope they send me something newer than a March 20th 2006 version. I mean I'm surprised this thing survived for so long seeing as it was pretty old and was almost from the launch date. I'm not asking for too much though. As long as it works and I don't have to send it non stop because it keeps failing, I'll be fine. Something in the mid or late 2007 area would be PERFECT right now, but anything newer than that would also be great.

I doubt they'll send something that new though.

[QUOTE="DarioD04"]

I have a few questions.

First of all, I'd like to say I'm surprised the 360 even lasted until now. I've had it for almost two years now (May 27th 06- May 11th 08). I decided to turn it on and play some GTA last night, when all of a sudden, I was greeted by the three flashing red lights. It surprised me, but I knew the thing would die eventually.

The problem is, I don't have a warranty anymore! It expired after my first year, and I didn't think about trying to extend it (if that's possible) because I wasn't having any noticable problems.

It just recently started freezing up, and sometimes the disk drive wouldn't open up completely and I had to press the button a few times.

So my questions are:

1) My warranty is expired, I just got the 3 RROD, and I'm in a tough money situation. Will I be able to get this repaired for free due to all of the complaints people have had about this?

2) How long does it usually take for the console to come back? I live in Canada by Toronto. (I still haven't finished GTA IV yet btw)

3) If I do need to pay for the repairs, how much will they cost for a RROD type of failure?

4) Do I get a brand new console that was made recently (with new chips or whatnot), or do I get the same 360 back except repaired? I have heard terrible stories about people getting a new 360, only to have it fail in the next month or so (and then have to go through this painful process again, and again, and again with new consoles). I don't want that to happen!

Thanks!

well you get an extended 3 year warranty so you can get it repaired for free.well i live in ireland and my friend said it took his 3-4 weeks to get it back.he told me he didnt get a new one back,he got a refurbished one..i have heard that some ppl get 360's back that dont even work

Is there any way I could request a new one or something? And are you telling me my warranty was automatically extended due to the RROD failure, or since this thing has been happening to so many people, they extended it for everyone?

I just made an account that was over 18 yeras of age on Windows Live and I linked it to my Xbox live to NO AVAIL. What do I have to do to fix this. This isn't fair. I have received these demos for so long and I'd have to say that was one of the best parts of Xbox Live for me up until now. Is there anything else I can do to change these age restrictions.
