Interesting article. Women are mostly portrayed as the sub characters, with few exceptions such as Bayonnetta, etc. There role seems to draw men towards them. I think what is concern is that there should be a female character that draws female gamers. More female gamers the better. An example would be some like a visual novel game. Most cases its a game directed at male audience, and they get to pick the girl, that best matches them, etc. The opposite of that would be an Otome game, which is to attract a female audience and giving them the choice of which guy they like. Of course this should be expanded into other genres. That is what i think.
