Great, always good to see a new high end mobo option. I look forward to more CPU choices for the LGA771 socket. Also, if you're going CrossfireX or Quad SLI, make sure your cards aren't dual slot sized. That rules out anything faster than an 8800GT. Also, no more than two 3870 X2's wil fit. Sorry, no 8-Core crossfire yet, though two X2's should give you a proper CrossfireX with 4 GPUs.

It's good to see AMD/ATi getting their act together and releasing some competitive hardware. Their CPUs are far cheaper than the Intel alternatives at the moment. If this continues they will be the value leaders. I'm also interested to see what the 4 GPU setups can achieve in benchmarks. For $600, you can buy two 8800GT superclocked cards in SLI, while under $800 can get you four Radeon 3850s. Which one performs better?

A single 8800GTX can only manage 15 FPS in VHQ on Vista? I know, 1600 x 1200 is a high resolution, but it's a little disheartening to think that the BEST card out there (other than an Ultra) can't even get a solid 30 FPS on the highest setting. I guess that's why we have SLI. Speaking of which, for the price of one GTX you can get two GT's, run them in SLI, and get a much better frame rate. That's what they should use for the benchmarks.

Well it runs great on my ATi X1900XTX. High settings, 1680 x 1050. Also, there's nothing wrong with the widescreen. 2K developed the game for widescreen then added extra to the top and bottom for fullscreen.

I'm waiting for the G92s. They are set to release in November, around the time of Crysis, and are rumored to be up to twice speed of the current G80 8800 GTXs. Time to spend another $600-700 on graphics!

Yes Taka, at 1600 x 1200 with 16xAF. What kind of performance would you expect from a midrange card on a 24 inch monitor with all effects turned up?

What happened to the 1024 mb Radeon HD 2900 XTX? It was supposed to wipe the floor with the GTX. Maybe ATi is saving that one for last...

Nice guide, I'll use it to adjust BF2 now that I replaced a 15 inch monitor with a 22 inch widescreen, which killed the framerate on my X1900 XTX. I'm also overclocking the card now, so I should still manage acceptable framerates and image quality for the next year or so (hopefully).

It's still a 3 year old game. It's cool that the graphics are better now but I was never impressed with either Halo games. There's better stuff coming out this year, I'll pass on a 3 year old port of a game even Halo fans were disappointed by.
