You're right. It became increasingly harder and harder to finish AC games. By revelations, I was like 75% and took a break. Felt more like work than fun. And I'd only be getting black flag because I've played the others. I on the other hand like the desmond animus story. It's my opinion that's the core story they want to tell. It's just not fleshed out well.

That's infinitely more interesting than a history simulator. I Just think ezio won over the people more than they intended. And then catered the story around that. How many games where ezio is the main dude? I doubt they planned that from the start.
