I totally see your points here, but there are a fiew things you need to consider, and there are a fiew things I shold have made clear. Like I said, no Norway the channels haven't started to use HDTV yet, but that does not mean that their not going to. In fact I just read that they are planning on usng the 720p standard in most cases. This is good news for 1366x768 right? Anyway I also see your point when it comes to maybe buying a smaller TV. But the thing is that my eyesight is not very good, so in my case it is very important to have somting FAIRLY big. The reason I am going for LCD is mostly because I have heared that they are good as computer monitors, which I probably will be using it for quite alot, and not just for games, but also for work and Internett surfing. I am of couse also going to watch my DVDs on it and stuff like that. The only reason I am considering to wait is really because I want to make sure that the TV won't be compleatley outdated in 5 years or so. I just want to do whats best in the long run. It's quite an investment for a poor student. Hehe.

I think you might be right. It was a 40 inch I was planning on buying, and it costs around 3800 dollars actually, so it would probably be better to wait a little while. By the way. Does anobody know what resolution most blue ray movies will be in, and what kind of output the Ps3 will offer when it comes to Blue Ray. In my opinion it seems highly unlikely that the ps3 will offer higher than 1080i support for Blue ray. Every one else seems to be holding back the 1080p output on standard Blue Ray players. On the other hand the Ps3 supposedly supports 1080p, so who knows.

Hey there. I was just wondering about a a fiew things. I am thinking of buying a new LCD tv, and I have found a virtually perfect (though very expencive) screen. It is a Samsung with a contrast level of 5000:1, a response time measured to 8ms and it got the European EISA award for being the best LCD screen from last year. I live in Norway, so I really don't know if this is anything like what you guys have. My problem is as follows: This screen only has 1366x768 native resolution (native 720p), though it supports the 1080i signal. I have heared that 720p signals look the best on 720p TVs, and same with 1080i. I have never even seen an HD broadcast (like I said, I live in Norway, where we still do not get HDTV signals), and I am wondering what native resolution to go for. How much quallity would a 720p broadcast loose on a 1080i screen, and visa versa? I know that the 720 signal won't loose much in terms of resolution, but the scaling makes it look a little wierd, or so I have heared. And of course the most important question of all. What resolution shold I go for when considdering the PS3?
