hell no, look reviews and ratings of games should not be based on personal preferance. If a game has shoddy graphics or lack of stroytelling or anything like that well fair enough. But i read too many where the critcs gives it a bad rating because it was too hard for them, what the hell. I can't remmeber what game it was exactly but i remember reading a review and he was basiclly saying, oh i found myself stuck on soem stage for twenty minuites because th A.I was just too hard even on an easier difficulty.

I thought Get the hell out, he ended up usijg that as a reason for rating it lower. I reckon that's pretty stupid, and besides i onyl really trust one magazine and that's offical playstation magazine. IGN and gamespot included always get it wrong in my mind. Nuff said

aspects of his appearance not withstanding, i have always liked raiden, i don't buy that he survived 4, as if he wouldn't be crushed by that boat!. but but otherwise i have always had a soft spot for him. But yeah, no problems playing as him again in Rising, always wanted to play as the ninja, perhaps he fought vamp between 2 and 4 as Vamp didn't seem to surprised by his appearance. that be cool if you could actiually control one of their fights.

agree with the OP mostly, i mean you get people complaining about MGS4 having too much and not enough game play. i know there should be a balance but i wish there were more games as deep as the Metal Gear series.

That's hard, i really love the main theme from VII, but there's one piece in X that's around mount gagazet or possibly Zanarkand ruins(sorry, havent played for ages) that feels kinda sad and just makes me really feel something and that's rare in games these days, for me anyway sorry i wasn't more specific,

So, no one else here looking forward to the game "Heavy Rain" coming out toward the end of the year? coz if it ends up being as good as they're saying it could be one of the games of the year. and Quantic dream seem to make pretty good games.

then my others would be:

Star Wars force unleashed

Bioshock (can't wait)

but that's just this year mind you.

Definitely the latter of what you said for me, it makes me feel more like I'm a part of the world, and just the freedom to explore at your own leisure makes it a better game for me. and multiple endings are better in my opinion, better replay value.

i brought a Playstation pretty late in it's run, it was that small one. and the games were getting harder to get, anyway i was begining to think i might have been better off getting another console. i'm walking thru a store and come across Final Fantasy VIII, after thinking a bit i buy it. great game, as a rather inexperienced gamer i was blown away, great story, pretty good graphics, and just everything about it i liked, not long after i found FFIX so i brought that, not quite as good IMO but still a decent game, not a week later i spotted VII in a video shop sale, i got my dad to get it for me, once again great game even though the graphics wern't quite as good i really enjoyed playing it.

so the series has a significance in my life like no other game series and always will, as a gamer Final Fantasy will always have a place in my heart.

i seem to be like most here, i have played VII, VIII, IX, X heaps of times, VIII probebly around ten times. VII around five times and similer for IX. X would be 6 times.

so for me yes they have plenty of replay value.

i havent and tend not to play the spin offs like, crisis core or dirge of Cirbirus?, so don't count them as official proper FF games FFXI included as it was online. so looking at it like that, XII is really the only game to go by and i think the majoritying think was that the game was good but not as amazing as past titles.

So let's wait and see how XIII works out and then maybe we can say the last couple of games arn't as good, maybe the series has peeked. or maybe the fact is that so many people loved VII so much that no other title will ever be as good, no matter how different or similer the new titles try to be.
