[QUOTE="AJC3317"][QUOTE="mitu123"] Battlefield would like to have a word with you...

-ArchAngeL-777-

please, there's no teamwork in battlefield. people either sit in the back of the map and snipe, sit in a corner without running toward objectives, or run around randomly healing/reviving people

Yeah teamwork is not present in Bad Company as much as it was on the PC games. I think its because the MW2 crowd is the ones mostly playing Bad Company. Every now and then, you get a good team. In general, there is much more teamwork going on in MAG than Bad Company.

Yea except MAG just wasn't any good. I'm just pokin fun, but it definately wasn't my cup of tea. One of the few games I turned around and sold. And it wasn't the graphics, I get sick of hearing that. They were great considering the scale of the game. I played until I unlocked the full 250+ player game modes, then realized I just wasn't having any fun with it. Bad Company 2 has been hard to top for me, as far as console FPS goes.

[QUOTE="legionofdugi"]this is only the beta, haha for what it is, i enjoy it Young_Charter
Same here... It only has a few bugs, like how it takes 1 sec to show your dead lol but it's way better than the lagging MW2

I can agree with that. It gets so old in MW2 clearly rounding a corner, yet the killcam still shows you in the middle of the street. It often is a battle of internet connections, not guns and skill.

Everyone here is still complaining about the beta and I'm still trying to get in, haha. :P

Here's a thought: Seeing as this IS a beta you could, you know, TELL THE DEVELOPERS. You know, since this is a BETA and not a DEMO. People forget this fact. They'd rather complain to their friends and be all "OMG, GAME IS HORRIBLE" about it. Most of the issues it sounds like people are having can be either tweaked or patched. By not making use of the fact that YOU can contribute since you're technically a tester you're allowing these gripes to slip through the cracks into the final product (Example: Modern Warfare 2).

Besides, you're playing the game early with a chance to aid in the development process. How cool is that? Seems like everyone is more than content to just play it, say "It sucks!" then when the game comes out be like, "See, I TOLD you!" Slightly unrelated, but similar in nature were all the people posting in the thread for Sony's E3 Conference. I read the whole thread and literally the half of it (70 pages) were people complaining about it and saying it sucks, that they weren't gonna keep watching, and that it was the worst conference out of the big 3. This was 40 MINUTES into a conference that was 2 HOURS LONG.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that today as gamers many of us are spoiled. This sense of entitlement and snobbery are just more reasons that gamers are labeled as immature.

Criticism is fine. I just hate when people don't give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. "It's not good" or "It sucks" or "It's not fun" don't help anybody. We're adults (hopefully). Learn to verbalize your thoughts and ideas parenthetically and succinctly.

Oh and don't worry, I'll expound further on this in a blog. ;)

I've tried to avoid the "it sucks" attitude by focusing on specific things and ignoring straight up "bugs". You won't find me whining about the freezing, I've actually tried to make light of it. I've held off on posting on the EA forums, but not only will the devs check sites like this, I actually seen this thread linked on one of the 100 EA Beta threads, so they are listening (put on your Sunday best). I've also given praise where its deserved. And I'm gonna keep posting any improvements or problems for those who don't wanna spend the $5 (seriously, if you want in, just put the $5 down and start playing). And if one more person brings up the fact I didn't use paragraphs!!! just playin, i use quick post cuz my PC is gettin slow, which doesn't insert paragraphs even if you enter them. Keep it real, peoples.

I'm thinking this game gets a 7 tops, unless the campaign is amazing.

MoH was never a critically acclaimed series. DICE are artists, but they can only work with tools that are given to them. The shooting mechanics and gameplay design were made by the team behind MoH and you can't fight that. However, the technical side looks very promising. That trailer "Leave a Message" is probably the best trailer I've ever seen for a videogame. It's touching and innovative in almost every regard, and I hope the campaign carries HALF of the emotional charge that trailer did. If so, it'll beat MW2 in terms of emotional immersion and impact, which is already pretty hard to do.

I'd never seen that trailer. thanks for bringing it to my attention. It perfectly captures how messed up it is over in the sandbox. It actually gave me more excitement for the game.

Not every shooter is mindless killing. Why is it that when everytime someone brings something like that up, someone spouts out that line?

There are numerous shooters that require stragety and thinking to actually be good at them. With the Battlefield series (all of them including BC2), you can run around and shoot like a headless chicken if you really want to, but if you want to actually support your team, you have to think.

Theres always gonna be snoody people that think that MMO's/Platformers/Sports/etc. take more skill than shooters. In what i've found, the gamers who are really into the Fantasy stuff and rag on shooters, typically are TERRIBLE when they play them. Just an observation. Of all games, shooters have the most basis in reality and are the ultimate form of human competition. There are plenty of shooters that are much more than "point - shoot - die - repeat". That's my complaint with MOH. And to be honest, if someone is gonna hate on FPS games, why bother coming to this thread? D-bags...

me, my brother, and 2 friends in squads do nothing but tactics in battlefield. We roll with a medic, sniper, assault and engineer. That game is NOT mindless shooting at all. I've blown up our own bomb sight in port valdez(A) to focus the team in on B and it works. That's pretty tactical IMO.

PreparationH123
why would you ever blow up your own crate? just playin, whatever gets the win. Yea, I agree with the post above my mine. It really was promoted as something else. Just watch the trailer and it clearly looks like a Bad Company 2 expansion, similar to what they will do with the Vietnam expansion coming up. But I was kind of shocked by the Beta. It's not bad per se, it just feels like multiplayer on a mediocre game that was tacked on. I just had real high hopes... It's gettin better though.

Sorry for the triple-post, but i just realized that the "90/100" and such "20/40" are for the killstreaks. That is actually more convenient than MW2.

i have had no problems killing people so far. i have much more problems killing people in bc2 than i do in this game. also, calling headshots overpowered is kinda a dumb argument since they're supposed to be one shot kills. the biggest problem i have right now is the explosive damage, or lack there of, but i'm sure they can adjust those thingsAJC3317
When i say overpowered I meant in relation to body or extremety shots. It seems much better today, but the first few days, either the hit detection was off or they had the damage settings way too low. Bad Company 2 has settings very low for body damage, thats why I like Hardcore, but this was really unpredictable. I could get kills with 2 bullets sometimes, and others a whole magazine wouldn't drop anyone. And once again, i love the look of the EOtech Holographic sight in this game. I have one on my AR-15, and its almost spot on. The reticle just just isn't that clear in the real.

[QUOTE="Tikicobra"][QUOTE="BigBoss96fs"]

After seeing the E3 multiplayer trailer, I was extremely excited. I preordered it to get into the beta, and now I am extremely disappointed. Before everyone gets sensitive and starts saying "It's only a beta...FAIL!", realize that the game is only a few months away from release. I played the Bad Company 2 beta for both PS3 and 360, and though it had bugs, it was still a great game at heart. This is just a bad game. All bugs and glitches aside, the choices DICE made were poor. I cannot stress enough thatgamers should be warned that this game has little to nothing in common with Bad Company 2, and is more like a poorly designed Modern Warfare 1. The guns have zero recoil, maps are small and cramped, headshots are extremely overpowered (reminds me of Metal Gear Online but worse), "fixed" weapon selection based on team is irritating, and hitmarkers are really flawed. Anything short of a headshot takes almost a full mag to kill. I made it about 30 minutes before I went back to playing Bad Company 2 and Modern Warfare 2. And as I stated, these aren't BETA problems, the game just isn't very good. I hope the Campaign is great, because I am extremely disappointed. I will be cancelling my pre-order and waiting to see the very mediocre review scores this game will get if the multiplayer doesn't get a complete overhaul. DICE really let me down on this one. And I am really questioning those actually like the BETA. I feellike they own neither BFBC2 orCOD games. Or they just have blind allegiance to EA and DICE, because I went in with a very open mind, but thisis just a mess (and yes, I did very well during the time I played, because I realized early on that headshots are the key to winning. It just got boring quick, so don't start the comments that I'm not very good at the game). Just thought I would let people know that the trailer is very misleading based on this stage of the BETA. And I am focusing on design choices, not any bugs that will be fixed. My problems will most likely still be in the final version. I'm thinking this game gets a 7 tops, unless the campaign is amazing.

Please use paragraphs. It's hard to read your post when it's all together like that.

yea sorry meant to go back and do that. prolly should edit it. the game seems better some today. hit detection is cleaned up a bit. It had a terrible glitch where I knifed a dude 3 times while he killed my teammate, finally had to shoot him. If this gets cleaned up, and the maps lose a bit of the linear feel, it could end up being a good game. Can't wait til i stop getting the freeze-frames showing off my kills (so sick of resetting my ps3). Also killstreaks are very unclear. I thought they were standard gear until i couldn't call a mortar strike right after a respawn. I'll keep playin it and posting improvements or things wrong with it. I'm trying to avoid complaining about actual bugs, simply because DICE will have those fixed by october.

ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE JUST LIKE BFBC2. Honestly, If I see people compare it over and over I am going to puke. Yes, the mp is made by DICE and sure it bares resembleance to BC but its not suppose to be an exact copy and I never expected it to be. I love it because it is fast, fun and feels like a hybrid between MW and BC. I think thats a good thing. This game has much easier aiming than most and the weapon balance seems better than most games. I prefer the snipers in this game cause they don't float all over the place you are trying to shoot from a boat on water. It has graphics similar to BC but it has cleaner textures I believe and I am digging the whole Marines vs Taliban ordeal. Gives a sense of realism that other games neglect by adding fake militias to fight.

My only gripe so far with the beta has been the constant freezing, which is far worse than any minor gameplay bugs. Its happened so often to me that I dread rebooting my PS3 to play this. How can they release the beta knowing about this MAJOR problem. I am sure it will be fixed before launch but I hope they fix it by the end of the week or my playtime with this beta will be short.

If you don't like MOH..cool. Stop playing it and go back to BFBC2 or MW2 or whatever it is that floats your boat. The rest of us will be quite happy to be fraggin each other for another few weeks on MOH.

I hear what your saying, but the E3 trailer looked like it was a Bad Company 2 patch, not to mention the 900 times they mention its from the makers of Bad Company 2. Due to that, I think a lot of people are looking forward to a similar experience. I'm not one of the people who hates Bad Company 2 but loves Modern Warfare 2, or vise versa, I like them both and feel they have very different styles. I just don't feel like the blend worked well, but the fact that the trailer clearly attempts to portray it as a Bad Company successor, I think a lot of players will be tricked if they just pick the game up based off the trailer. There is considerably less to do in this game ( at this point) than either Modern shooters. The nice thing about the freezing, it almost always happens when I score a long range headshot, which kinda gives me a nice freeze frame so I can walk in the other room, get my roommate, and show off my shot.
