I'll wait until it's about 20 Euros, because that's how much I would pay for the DLC I didn't buy for my 360 version.

These re-releases are such a double-edged sword. They keep dev teams from putting out new, original software optimized for the new consoles and they are totally overpriced, so the consumer has little reason to buy them, especially on day 1. Stop that! Make new, better games instead of re-releasing that old stuff!

Fine, I bought Diablo 3 Ultimate again. Yeah, sue me. I'm a sucker for Diablo, and I honestly think the console version plays better than the PC version does. Nothing beats grinding down hordes of enemies with the controller. Also, couch coop. There was enough new content to justify that to myself (and my wife :-)). But Sleeping Dogs and even GTAV don't offer enough incentive.

@Gen007 Oh, I dunno... maybe Diablo 3? Much better co-op experience, barely any loading times.

I don't know why everybody is so surprised. I mean, look at HALO, for crying out loud. Even after playing through 1, 2, 3, ODST and Reach (not to mention Halo Wars), I can pretty much sum up the story in one sentence. "Alien religious zealots want Humanity dead, Master Chief (or some other faceless dudes) to the rescue." It's flashy, it plays best with others, but I wouldn't call that "compelling storytelling." Excarbating the problem is the fact that most of the lore is established OUTSIDE the games. Comics, novels, anime, what have you. By the time Halo 3 rolled around, I stopped caring about the story and just pointed my gun at the next soon-to-be dead alien.

So, when Destiny rolled around, I expected a shooter with mild RPG elements, and I got a shooter with mild RPG elements. The story? I go somewhere because Dinkleghost tells me to and I kill stuff. That's enough context for an evening of loot grinding with my buddies.

What I can say is that Destiny fails to make me care. I don't care about the endgame. I don't have the desire to grind in this game, because not only does it lack a story, my characters lack any trace of a personality. And once again, most of the lore which could make the game richer is relegated to an outside source, namely the companion app/website. Why the hell would I put down my controller, grab my tablet and look at that while I can shoot stuff? Who even thought this a good design decision? "Let's put it there, because we need SOMETHING for our companion app. Please!"

I'm with Angry Joe on this - something major must have happened in the later developement stages of the game, something that had them toss over everything they had so far and whip up SOMETHING to show to Bobby Kotick. Or they intend to plug the gaping emptyness with ten years worth of DLC. I wouldn't put that past Greedyvision. Anyway, with Shadows of Mordor out and Far Cry 4 around the corner, I can put Destiny to rest, unless one of my buddy needs me as a bullet magnet...

With a title like "Diseny Infinity", one would expect at least ONE of the core franchises like Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck to make an appearance. This looks more like "Pixar Infinity" to me. And a blatant cash grab besides.

Regarding the bugginess of it all: Don't worry, they'll get it right eventually. I can see a whole mountain of add-on packs and sequels in the wings already. Re-skin, pour new figures and BAM, instant cash.

@Soulreavercross @Arsyad00 So what? It's still basically THE SAME GAME, so the things said in the review should apply here as well. You could knock off a point for a mediocre port, but the gameplay, story and creepiness factor are still there.

I wonder if you've been playing Resident Evil 6 by accident, Carolyn. Because the 3DS review, from your own site, says:

The Good
  • Taut stop-and-shoot action
  • Creepy atmosphere
  • Great visuals, especially in 3D
  • Entertaining story.
The Bad
  • Unengaging new characters.

... and the game gets an 8.5. Sure, the port may not be the best (it's Capcom, after all), but the game is the freaking same! Talk about "double standards", eh?

"Xbox One will be the premier tool for the world's best storytellers."

CALL OF DUTY! DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA!

Need I say more? Same shit, different packaging. Now with 110% more home surveillance! AND hand wagging! Seriously, MS, that's all you could think of? I'll pass.

I've played EDF 2017 for weeks on end, and I salute them for releasing this over the stupidly boring Insect Armageddon. A fun game, especially the almost-compulsive gun collecting and loadout tinkering.

Too bad they didn't tweak vehicle handling. But seeing a new character to play as makes me want to play this all over again.

EDF! EDF!

Why not? Cool idea, and DIY approach that works? All the more power to them. Not my cup of tea, but I can appreciate their dedication - and the trailers look cool.

@rbrwebber @victorlamy

"Friendlier approach to newcomers"? I'm by no means a driving sim newbie, but even with near-perfect driving in the demo qualification lap, I didn't even get close to 10th place where the game wanted me to be. If that's the "friendly" way, I don't want to know how the "unfriendly" way feels.
