@smokeless_0225 Yeah the entire game felt shallow and lackluster for some reason. I made it half way through the story and realized I had no interest in finishing it or playing the game at all ever again.
Lol, I knew this reviewer would play the misogyny card. It's like they've never played a GTA game before. The state of the industry is so pathetic. You might as well be complaining about the violence, drug use and language too.
To make one thing clear, I'm not complaining about the score, it's the principle of the thing.
I expected a creepy, oldschool-ish, 1st person adventure game where you have to gather clues to try and find out what kind of sinister thing happened to make a family go missing...
What I got was an angsty, cliched teen drama.
**** this 'game'. The fact that it's getting so much praise is laughable, especially with that outrageous price tag.
@firepawl @AtomicBaconBitsI've beaten the game several times. And no, the choices are not amazing. It just gives you a false sense of that. mass Effect has never had real choices that are really detrimental to the story. Alpha Protocol, for example actually has real choices that matter.
But that's not the point, the point is that they stripped down everything that made the game good, so much to where it wasn't an RPG anymore....which is you know, what it's supposed to be. No more looting, no more exploration, no more changing your squads armor, barley any RPG elements anymore and skills, you can rank up to max rank in 1 playthrough, no more interesting side quests, the side quests are just tacked on and extremely linear with no dialogue, it's pathetic. They just dumed it down for a 'wider audience' which seems to be the trend nowadays, and it's why so many once good franchises are being ruined.
2 was just an action game with slight RPG elements. 3 was just a straight up 3rd Person shooter. They should have called it Gears of Mass Effect.
I like how everyone assumes it's the ending that makes people hate Mass Effect 3. Quite the opposite. I didn't mind the ending, it was the rest of the game that was complete shit.
Mass Effect 2 & 3 are just dumbed-down streamlined pieces of crap that took all all the rpg elements, exploration, looting and all the stuff that made Mass Effect 1 good. They're games aimed at entry level 'gamers' and the CoD crowd.
With that said, even though it's one of the most disappointing games of all time for me, Mass Effect 2 can still be enjoyable. 3 is just utter trash.
