@decoy1978 if they require internet and charge subscription fees? BIG problem, at least in my opinion. its also completely unnecessary. why do i need an internet connection to play a single player campaign? or play split screen/co-op?
@everyday182 @Argle @buckwild73 hypothetically speaking, and im hardly business savvy so feel free to correct -
more money for game developers/publishers means more profit, which means they can make more games or better games, or more than likely both. more and better games for ur console makes it that much more appealing. perhaps in the very long term if the game companies profit margins inflate enough, they could lower the cost of new games?
course, this is all assuming people arnt instantly turned off by the 'no used games' ploy and simply dont buy the console.
@everyday182 @buckwild73 the pirates? im sure thats a factor, but ur average Xbox Live CoD player is probably not pirating his games. i always thought this was meant to bring down companies/practices like GameStop, who literally get ALL of the profit on used game sales as opposed to new game sales, the latter being more directly beneficial developers/publishers/consoles
"Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting may not have happened if video games did not give the shooter a "false sense of courage."
"I think video games is a bigger problem than guns"
L O L
disregarding the grammatical error in our senators second quote....how the ef do these people get elected? i mean i know how, but - eh, you know what I mean
@Manji14 uh, although i agree with you, banning guns would cause a shitstorm of unimaginable proportions. honestly they just need to ban military grade weapons/magazines, control illegal guns better, and impose strong regulations on gun shops. of course ur average gunnut would respond to that with "their takin our gerns!!".....sigh
i strongly agree with that last paragraph. video games really do have the potential do be a special and unique medium. however, the violence is never going to change, it will always be there just as it will always be there for movies and books. i think if people are serious about this, they just need to launch a massive educational campaign. expose and explain video games to parents, and maybe they will sit there children down for a talk or better yet buy their kids more age appropriate games.
as a side note, am i the only one that finds the violence in God of War so absurd that its hilarious?
@BenderUnit22 nah, we just need to make sure were following the framers intent. every american has the right to bear arms....circa 1776. thats right! every american is entitled to a musket and/or flintlock pistol. modern weaponry is designed for the military and law enforcement anyway
no, they dont have to change anything...but that doesnt mean that the ending didnt suck, which it did. shame too, cuz the rest of the game was awesome.
