Not worried about the system overheating, its done well for 3 years im sure it'l hold out a while longer.. Thanks for the advice though! I would leave it at 2.4 but it isn't quite ideal to run new games :( Fallout new vegas seems a bit jumpy at 2.4, was fine at 3.2... I think its strange that suddenly 1 day my O.C profile doesn't work anymore, very strange..

England, so not so warm, also my room is usually cold from the window being open.. When it was O.C to 3.2 for the past year my idle 35c, i just need to get back to that stage, step by step coz i can't remember how i did it lol.
Hey I'm planning on O.Cing from 2.4ghz to 3.2...
Heres my setup:
Q6600
Asus p5k-e WiFi AP
Corsair XMS2 2048mb DDR2 Ram x 2
Nvidia 8800gt (EVGA)
Creative Sound blaster X-fi
(Vista Home ed 32bit)
(Got artic pro 7 cooling for processor)
I need a step by step overclock if anyone can please! Would be very much appreciated! I'm not great with stuff like this, but managed to have it overclocked to 3.2 for the past year but suddenly not working anymore :(
Thanks!
Right, so ive got a q6600, p5k-e mobo, 8800gt, 4gb ram... had this pc for 3 years now... Approx 1 year ago i overclocked from 2.4 to 3.2, its been running fine for a full year, yet just now I turned it on and its failing to load my O.C and going straight to a choice of Enter setup or run default config... Its working but only at 2.4 (with GO Stepping taking it down to 1.6)
Any1 got any idea why its suddenly stopped working like this?
Tried writing a CD using iTunes, but about 10 seconds in, it ejected it and came up with an error 400 or something like that. The CD has some of the 1st track and repeats it about 20 times. Now the disk drive won't even open.Â
Can anyone help?Â

yeah it does, it flashes a lot faster then normal.
how do i encode it to mpeg? or something? (yeah it is an AVI file)
Right, so i downloaded Camtasia studios, to record a DVD onto my PC, i can record it, but when it comes to playback, it is extremely jumpy... and misses bits etc...
anyway, i looked into it, and people have said "turn off hardware acceleration", well i can't, because my vista drivers won't allow it.
Any 1 got an idea on how to make it smoother playback?
