(this is in no order) 1. Mario Kart (N64 or whatever...) -- This is a great party game, well, the pvp part is. I played it back in the olden days, but I didn't get into it until I was in medschool. Then it became part of my life 2. Any 2d Fighting Game (street fighter / mortal kombat . . . or my personal fav. SNK's King of the Fighters '98) -- They had an arcade machine of it back in the anorexic 'games room' at my university. I never got much of a chance to play it because I wasn't part of some clandistine AZN maffia, but when I got it home, I felt much much cooler. (but not cool enough to play against those funboys who knew every combo) 3. F.E.A.R. (PC) -- This was the crazy, spooky FPS that everyone was talking about. It wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Wolfenstien, Doom, Quake or Half-life, but it's physics and viscereal, realistic action make it more enjoyable than using a B.F.G. 4. The sports title (console) -- If you want to be cool, you have to have a bunch of drunken friends come over and play Madden or something at your place. While one guy goes nuts using Mike Vick running on every play, and there are at least 6 guys watching the action, you can feel your coolness rating increase with each of Vick's rushing yards. 5. The two player, violent, co-operative game that has weapons where at some point, you are eventually going to hit/attack/kill the other player (on purpose or on accident) -- Something like Double Dragon, River City Randsom, or one of those side (or top) scrolling shooters.
