@nparks: Ubisoft had nothing to do with the Prince of Persia movie. Ubisoft don't own the IP for Prince of Persia (which is actually why you don't see any of those games anymore), that series belongs to its creator, Jordan Mechner. If you didn't like Prince of Persia, blame it on Jerry Bruickheimer and Disney, they were behind it.
@siritokakyou: They need to render the game twice, at 60fps, of course it will take a VERY strong PC, what the hell are you on about regarding optimization?
@andmcq @Dannystaples14 Where the hell did you come up with that number? Can you really be this ignorant or have absolutely no idea what you are talking about? 120 fps? REALLY NOW? As long as you are on an Nvidia card and have a good CPU, then the PC version of Unity is by far the superior version. Or maybe you prefer playing below 30.
I don't think you need 16:9 for each eye, the FOV would be borderline insane. Maybe something more along the lines of 1600 with 1080 for each eye. A total display width of 3840 is just too much with just 1080 vertical.
Not saying don't go straight for a 4k horizontal, but at least increase the vertical too, right? A 40% vertical increase should suffice.
@Benny_a NO, what they don't say is THOSE SYSTEMS are worse then we thought they would be. That's the problem, Assassin's Creed is trying much more then is capable on the PS4 and Xbox One within the parameters they were first targeting.
Gravity_Slave is probably to young to know better, but since you called him kiddo you should know better. Bottom line, the systems are just not strong enough, at least not as strong as Sony and Microsoft lead everyone to believe a year ago.
@nomadski69 Wrong, you don't render two 1080 screens man, at least not the 1080 you think.
The screen on the Rift is a 1080 display and each eye gets half of that display, so how the hell are you rendering two 1080 screens at the same time, also stop saying "p" at the end, every screen is now progressive so don't need to put it after the vertical resolution anymore.
The real framerate killer is having to render the same scene twice. The actual resolution is actually half normal, so 960 with 1080 for each eye (at least on the latest Rift model, the first DK rendered at 640 with 720 for each eye).
@b74kd3th @Vexov Not to mention most of the time a captain is surrounded by many uruks and doing what that guy said is just about impossible since you can't just concentrate on a single enemy.
Between this and MGS 5, I'm very impressed with Japan lately. Actually I haven't been this excited for a Japanese game(s) that wasn't made by From Software in a long time.
