I bought GoW1 but never picked up the 2nd one just because I figured it'd be too similar. But graphics wise, looking at these screens, GoW1 edges out GoW2 in almost all screens by a mile, sure GoW2 might be slightly sharper, but it doesn't make up for the fact that theyve ruined the lighting. The 1st game looks way more atmopheric and interesting, like a movie, whereas the 2nd game looks kinda bland and boring, even if the lighting is technically more realistic. This is merely my opinion of course.

@ nintendokid I totally agree in fact I'm a big fan of cel shading as well, looks really striking and doesn't date unlike realistic graphics, sometimes gritty realism gets boring.

It's obvious from these shots that the PC version sure looks sharper on the whole, but as for the lighting, I feel the consoles have more contrast and look more atmospheric. Its sad to see that even though the lighting is technically more realistic on the PC versions, it somehow looks duller and less interesting, and this is coming from a relatively decent PC owner.

FEAR is just awesome, one of the few games which I actually found genuinely very scary just because its mostly implied horror and makes you very jumpy. The lighting was very good at the time too. I never understood how people could find stuff like Resi Evil 4 scary since the majority of the game just has you mowing down countless zombies with very little effort. At least in FEAR the AI was pretty damn good.

I dont understand, how can the 8800 GTS get a better performance rating in STALKER than the 2900 and score worse in the price performance bearing in mind the GTS is cheaper?

The one place where PS3 fanboys could make fools of themselves, an Xbox update. Bearing in mind the Xbox already had a far better online than the PS3 theyve made it better, web brousing, honestly we all have PCs for that. Achievements being easier is also cool, especially for the 200 more games the Xbox has than the PS3. Seriously PS3 fanboys when will you see it, MS has been nothing but good for their console owners recently (come to think of it, all the time) with improved features and some PS3 'exclusive' games. I dont mind the PS3 my friend has one, there okay, but I wouldnt want to pay a fair bit more money for one for what (IMO) are poorer features (especially the lack of games)
