I rather play a game with half the length if it means half the boredom. There is so much filler in DAO is crazy.texasgoldrush

This. A million times this.

I love Origins, without question my favorite game of this generation so far, but there are a lot of parts that are elongated to a degree that I actually dread having to go through them (Deep Roads gets the majority of my ire. I can understand having to go through two sub areas, but four? No thank you.). I don't mind trimming the fat at all. However, I haven't played enough of DA II to form a final opinion on it, still trying to figure out what I actually feel about the combat, but I will say I love the storytelling mechasnism of the game.

What diseased mind would turn a bad filler arc into video game content?

That particular filler arc was even worse than the combined filler arcs that they tacked onto the end of Naruto before the timeskip.

Nymphonomicon

I actually kind of liked the pseudo Nine-Tails arc, if only because it gave Asuma something to do besides being killed. But yeah, those filler stories are some of the last things I'd like to see put onto the game. In the rare occorance that they actually do release DLC, why not flesh out some of the stuff they left out of the game instead? (Danzo, Madara revealing himself to Naruto and others, etc.)

After a good internal debate, I was able to come up with my top three (in order):

1) The Crystal Tower (Final Fantasy III): Without a doubt, one of the most epic final dungeon themes ever. Such a simple tune, yet spellbinding at the same time. A true testament to Uematsu's genius that one of his 8-bit tracks has held up so well. (And as an aside, this is also my favorite track to use in Dissidia. It can make the most mundane of fights seem epic)

2) Clash on the Big Bridge (Final Fantasy V): What can I say about this track that hasn't already been said ad naseum? Bar none, the best boss music in the entire series. It's only real rival is...

3) The Extreme (Final Fantasy VIII): The best (Final) boss music in the series, I remember being in awe of the opening the first time I heard it (Which goes perfectly with Ultimecia's speech to begin the battle), and it only got better from then. I had trouble focusing on the battle at times because the song had me entranced. Just a beautiful, beautiful piece of music.

Tracks that almost made the cut: Fight with Seymour (Final Fantasy X), Forever Rachel (Final Fantasy VI), Shadow's Theme (Final Fantasy VI), J-E-N-O-V-A (Final Fantasy VII)

If this is your first time playing it I can see where you could have some difficulty. A lot has changed in the genre in the 15+ years EarthBound has been around, and the old school mechanics can take some getting used to. Then again, even when the game was new, I remember being so frustrated during my first playthrough, but it's definately worth it. It remains my favorite video game to this day.

Well, considering I'm about to put my 300th hour into Dissidia, of course I'm getting the sequel, plus Tactics Ogre. The others... eh, we'll see.

I wouldn't mind a VII remake. Not only because it's one of the smartest business decisions they could make, I don't know if there's a game in more need of a fresh translation than Final Fantasy VII.

I've been waiting for this game to hit the Arcade for YEARS. Looking forward to this one immensely.

Right now I'm going through my yearly playthrough of EarthBound. After all this time, still my favorite game ever.
