Anyone that played the last few Halo games (love them or hate them!) knows that there have been areas around the networking code and host selection that could be improved.
For Reach, Bungie have stated 'they've gutted the Halo 3 engine', but haven't given any specifics, not have they confirmed something that fans have been clamouring for for the past 5 years - the ability to choose our own host in custom games. (Matchmaking is another discussion! ;) )
There are a number of us that have been asking in the Bungie forums since Halo 3 for answers to these questions. Now we're not going away. We'd like Bungie to answer 2 simple questions:
1)Roughly how much of the multiplayer code is reused from Halo 3?
2) Can we finally pick our own host in custom games?
If you're interested in exactly how improved the multiplayer may be for Reach, please, show some support in This thread
Thanks
