#1) Half-Life 2 (PC) - I've put this game at #1 not only because is it the definitive FPS of the last 5 years, but also because it comes bundled with CS: Source and HL2 Deathmatch and would provide hours of awesome online play as well. #2) GTA San Andreas (PC) - A huge, expansive, immersive world with so much to do, hilarious satyrical humour and a basic gameplay mechanic that is so good they still haven't changed it after 6 GTA games. #3) Deus Ex (PC) - I've completed this game multiple times on the hardest difficulty, and yet i'd honestly still play it through another multiple times. Deeply immersive gameplay and an excellent story to boot. #4) Sonic 3 and Knuckles (Mega Drive/Genesis) - Simply a classic. Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles were both great games, but plug Sonic 3 into the innovative S&K cartridge and you had something truly beautiful. Play as all the characters through all the levels in both games, and collect the extra chaos emeralds to unlock Hyper-Sonic. What more could you want? #5) Total Annihilation (PC) - Quite simply the best RTS game ever. Innovative game mechanics which cut out the micromanagement, and battles that are fought with genuine tactics as opposed to building up an army and spamming it at the enemy base. If Supreme Commander were out, it would probably take this place on the list, but its not, so it doesn't.
