No the ps3 controller is not dated. Some ppl prefer ds3 others prefer 360 controller. To say one has a better design over the other is just saying your opinion. However there is no denying that ps3s ds3 does more.

If I'm not mistaken the original Dualshock was released back in 1998 (Dual Analog in 1997) which sprung from the original PSX ones (just add analog sticks and longer R2/L2 buttons). Seems dated to me. That said it is all about preferences and opinions at the end of the day.

The 150m+ people that used the dualshock from 1998 onwards didn't seem to care until it was cool to hate Sony

I'm one of the few that don't its cool to hate Sony. All the companies have their struggles. People expected too much of Sony and their platforms (I'm just disappointed at the lack of change with DS3). Maybe next gen people will find cool to hate on MS.

There's a thread like this popping up every day.mysterj
I admit that I don't come here often. I do still play both consoles with their respective controllers. With all this motion control talk with both systems these days just wondered what the mood was like.

Since it seems that many people don't like change when comes to the dualshock controller (I'm not one of them) do you think its a better option than the Xbox 360 gamepad? Don't get me wrong I've always liked the Dualshock. I just think its time for Sony to evolve it a little bit. The design is pretty dated.

If this is how kids act today we are all in trouble for the next several generations to come.

Hasn't it always been like this in gaming?enterawesome
No. That's the problem. Kids today seem to forget (or have never learned) that games are meant to be fun. Everyone is invested in meaningless things like sales charts and review scores instead of just enjoying the great games that we're given.

I'm just interested. However, I decided not to include the episodes for IV.

There was always an obsession over graphics, this is nothing new...

That is still no excuse for the trolling/flaming.

5 years ago (or last gen) everyone understood the limitations of each console. Some (or many) PS2 games were not up to XBox (or Gamecube) standards. However there never seem to be many wars over them. As long as the game was playable worrying about which the better version was graphically was unnecessary. My point is that just because some (or many) PS3 and 360 games differ graphically (ex. resolution, sub HD) but are both playable (more importantly enjoyable) and there is no need for these beefs. Sole owners and owners of both consoles need to stop arguing over trivial things like "grass" in Red Dead Redemption. Last time I checked everyone got the same glitchly (but fun) experience. In my life I've never seen battles go this far (at least the SNES/Genesis "wars" were respectable).
