they'll work but why would you want to do that? we normally get games in europe a while after they're released in the US plus they cost way more. in the uk a ps3 game costs £50 which is pretty much $100!

since your posting on the hardware board, ps3. it has undeniably better hardware on paper. if thats not your concern then you've kinda picked the wrong board but then again posting on system wars would have gotten you nowhere.
euro ps3's have no emotion engine (ps2 hardware), which means that a lot of ps2 games won't run properly on them. there is website listing all of the ps2 titles that will work on ps3 and rates them as to how well they run. i think that the majority of ps2 games will work and that number will increase over time due to updates etc.
