obscure niche or no, this is a fantastic racing game once you get a hang for the controls.

Polaris Snowcross is an extreme sports title about racing snow mobiles. If you are already a fan of motocross and things of that nature, than this game might be up your alley. The first thing that I noticed about the game was the incredibly awesome graphics. I seriously had no expectations of such a stunningly beautiful game on the Gameboy Color. The environments have a three dimensional look about them despite the bird's eye racing style, similar to that of the Micro machines games. In addition to the awesome graphics, the sound effects and music are also very expertly utilized pushing the handheld system to its limits. Your sight and hearing aren't the only senses you'll be using while playing this game either for if you have a basic double A battery, you can use the rumble feature! Indeed the developers of this title sure did pull out all the stops in making a very technically impressive game with the highest quality production values. Based on those aspects I can highly recommend this game. However with all the praise I have for this game I still should say that it was hard to get into at first because this game is so very difficult. There is little to no difficulty progression from level to level in the artificial intelligence aspect so from the very start you will have to get a good handle on things before you can progress to the more advanced tracks. In any case though this game is good for a few hours of fun.
