The sequel to some of the best games ever is bigger, prettier, sounds nicer and is more addictive to play
GRAPHICS:
The graphics are really similar to the original games, but now everything is in color, and it looks pretty polished. Plus, for the first time in the franchise, the pokemon animate when they are sent out in battle, which is a very welcomed feature. One complaint is that most of the routes and caves look too similar to one another. 4/5
SOUND:
The sound capabilities of the console aren't the best, but the game makes good use of it, having catchy tunes for the towns and boss battles. 5/5
GAMEPLAY:
The game is an RPG. You play as an unnamed boy or girl, going into an adventure to become a pokemon master. Yeah, you don't play pokemon for the story. The is plot involving Team Rocket, but is quite shallow. The gameplay is basicaly the same from the previous games. You catch pokemon to battle, train them, battle a gym leader so then you battle the elite four. It still is really fun to do, and there are more pokemon in this game, so you can make lots of different teams. The differences betwee, Crystal and Gold and Silver are light, with the addition of the animations of the pokemon, some different locations for the creatures and some different progression of the adventure. They are all very light changes, but i belive they make up for the best version of the games. It will take you about 15 hours to beat the game, but once you beat the elite four, you can explore the Kanto region, from the previous games, which add about 7 hours to gameplay, plus the huge replayability from playing the game with different teams. 5/5
