Story
You`re a 10-year old boy who reaches out in the unknown to become the champion,catch pokemon,train,battle and more.There are 8 gym leaders and its up to you to beat them,earn the 8 badges and advance to the Elite Four,the 4 of the strongest trainers in the Kanto Region,and in the Pokemon World.After that,you face the Champion [im not gonna spoil it even though all of you probably played it].In your way,you will bump up to Team Rocket,a nutorius and somewhat-goofy group of Poke-accent-mon criminals that steal pokemon and use them for their own evil deeds.You start your advanture with your rival,and battle him throughout the game a total of 7 times.Most of us probably called him Gary,but the most common name is outright "Penis".
Gameplay
So,you have been set to the unknown raeches of the Kanto Region.Let`s start off from the begigning.You get a Starter Pokemon.You get to choose between a trio of strengts and weaknesses-Bulbasor,the Grass Type who is strong on the Water Type,Squirtle,who is strong on the most common choice,Charmander,the Fire type who wrecks the s**t out of Bulbasor.Let me explain.You get to have max 4 moves in your moveset.Now,thats kinda restricted,but it works throughtout the game,as you can have 6 pokemon total in your party.Each attack has it`s specific type.For Example-Ember=Fire,Water Pulse=Water,Solarbeam=Grass.There`s more types like Ghost,Poison,Flying,Fighting,Rock,Ground,Electric and the incredibly overpowered Psychic.The Psychic type is overpowered becuse the SP.ATK and SP.DEF haven`t been introduced yet till Gen 2,and in Gen.1 games like Red and Blue there was only the stat known as "Special",which made pokemon like Alakazam destructive becuse nothing could stop them.The Psychic type is weak to Bug-Type Pokemon and Ghost-Type Pokemon (was,in Gen.1).Since Bug-Types don`t really have any strong attacks [if you count an attack that spins you around in a string of web],and the only ghost type pokemon in the game is Ghastly and it`s evolutions,but they were Poison,and Psychic was strong on Poison.But,since this is a remake,it does balanced it out with Dark and Steel Types like Magneton and Umbreon,who are strong to Psychic-Types like Kadabra or Drowzee.The choice of your starter determines how tough the beggining of your journey will begin.Bulbasor is Easy,Charmander is Hard,and Squirtle is Medium.You can see my full team at the end of this review :P.So you start of your journey.Your given 5 pokeballs (you can buy more later,and even stronger variations like Ultra Ball,Great Ball and the Master Ball,which can catch any pokemon in existance].which you use to catch pokemon.You have to meet a pokemon in the wild grass,then engage in battle with it.You weak it down,and by going to the Backpack menu,you can throw a Pokeball to attempt to catch it.If you fail you can try again.The battle system works like Rock-Papers-Scissors,which i explained earlier in this review.The battle interface itself looks rather bland,i mean the BG,uuf.There are 8 towns in the game,each containg their specific tourist locations and some of them,gyms.
Pallet Town-The beggining town which litteraly has like 3 buildings,including yours.
Pewter City-This is where you can score your first badge.Brock specilizes in Rock-Type Pokemon.I destroyed him.I bet that`ll open his eyes.Am i racist now.?
Cerulian City-The Leader here is Misty,who specilizes in Water-Type pokemon.I love Using Pikachu just for this reason.Or Mareep,if your a hacking little biiiiitch.
Vermillion City-The third Gym Leader here is Lt.Surge,who can whip your ass if your not prepared.But,you catch some insanely High-Level Dittos and even Dugtrios in the cave nearby.Level 30 Dugrio,seriously ?? You can aboard the SS.Anne if you got the Ticket if you beat everyone in the Nugget Brige in Cerulean city,and turn a freak named Bill into a human again.
Lavender Town-I AM NOT GONNA TALK ABOUT THE CREEPY PASTA.Anyways,this place is a pretty good training spot,talking specifily about the Pokemon Tower.That thing is fu***g large.Also annoying.
Celadon City-My favorite city.You can score an Eveee Here,who can evolve into diffrent forms depending on what elemental stone you use on him.This is the home of Erika,the Grass Type Gym Leader.
So the formula continues like that,each and every town having there gym,etc.
The game is amazingly fun,and i`m not gonna talk about the presentation all that much becuse there`s really not much to say.
