This is an awesome Pokemon game! One of the best!

User Rating: 8.5 | Pocket Monsters Pearl DS
Just like any Pokemon game, Pearl isn't a really long or challenging game. But it has so much stuff in it to last you a really long time.

Story: 9/10

The game takes place in the Sinnoh region, and after you beat the game and get the National Pokedex, you can explore the Battle Zone, which is a small island to the northeast of Sinnoh. Anyway, you start out as a kid, as usual, and you go around beating Gym Leaders and beating the evil Team Galactic. I won't tell you there goal, because I don't want to spoil it, but it is good.

Music: 8.5/10

The music is good. It's clear and not as beepy as the others. I still prefer Kanto and Johto music better, though.:)

Graphics: 7.5/10

The graphics are of course better than any older Pokemon game, but there is one problem: When you walk, they are all pixely and weird. It's not a huge problem, but it should definately be fixed later on in another Pokemon game.

Controls: 9/10

The controls are simple, of course. Just use the direction pad to wal, interact with items using the A button. But now you have the Poketch, or "Pokemon Watch", that serves as a map, clock, timer, and has other good functions like checking to see how much your Pokemon likes you, the health of your Pokemon, how they are in the day-care, and it can show you where legendary Pokemon are.

Gameplay: 8.5/10

The gameplay is just like any other Pokemon game, really. Walk around, fight Pokemon, catch Pokemon, and beat whoever comes you way. But, there is a new addition that wasn't in any other game...underground. Once you get to a certain city, you can talk to this man who lets you go underground. While there, you can build a secret base, look for treasure, and collect stuff too put in your base. It's funner than it sounds.;)

Flow: 9.5/10

It's not glitchy or repetitive at all. Because all the areas are different and there is a constant storyline, the game is just fine.

Characters: 8/10

They didn't make the player look totally stupid, so that's good. The characters are pretty good. Some of the Gym Leaders are weird, but you kinda gotta expect that. The evil orginization, Team Galactic, looks kinda dumb... But, they're OK.

Replay Value: 9/10

The game never gets old. The storyline and the challenge of beating it is so good that you won't mind playing it again. Besides, you could trade your Pokemon to a different game before you delete you file and then catch them again on your new file. More legendaries!

Difficulty: 7.5/10

The difficulty depends on how you look at it. The storyline isn't that hard. But doing all the extra stuff, like catching all 493 Pokemon, is really hard, but rewarding in the end. Plus, the real challenge is beating people worldwide on Wi-Fi battles.

Length: 8/10

Even though the game itself is short, there is lots to afterward. With a good storyline, music, graphics, 107 new Pokemon, plenty of stuff to do afterward (like catching legendaries, winning at the Battle Tower, exploring the Battle Zone, going underground, winning contests, and doing battles with people around the world with Wi-Fi), this game will last you a long, long time. Heck, It's lasted me over 2 or 3 hundered hours!

Overall Quality: 8.5

If you're a fan of Pokemon, buy this game (or you could buy Diamond or Platinum, they're basically the same. Platinum's got more features and Pokemon, though). If you're not a fan of Pokemon, consider it anyway.=)
